UPDATE on March 28th, 2012:
Hi Guys! Just wanted to let you know that on March 30, we will update this iFrames app to be compatible with the 810 pixel format (for the transition of all brand pages to the Timeline format.)
This will not change any designs that have been created for 520 pixels— those designs will get centered on the page with white space on either side.
Starting in 2 days, however, you can update your designs to be 810 pixels wide and they will display with no scrolling!
—————————–
When Facebook officially makes the switch on March 10th from FBML to iFrames there’ll be a lot of great benefits for fan page owners, including greater flexibility in terms of design and functionality. But it does create a pretty major challenge for the hundreds of thousands of Facebook page owners who’ve relied on Facebook’s FBML app to display a ‘fan gate’ (otherwise known as a ‘reveal tab’) on their Facebook page. On March 10th Facebook will stop supporting its FBML app, and on this day it will no longer be possible to create new FBML-based fan gates. Fortunately,
Wildfire has a solution. We’ve created an easy-to-use, FREE
iFrames application for Facebook pages that enables any business to easily create their own fan gate, in addition to attractive image and HTML-based landing pages.

As many of you are aware, the fan gate (when coupled with incentives like deals, contests and exclusive content) has been one of the most effective ways for Facebook page owners to grow their fans/likes. Facebook’s FBML fan gate functionality enables marketers to display one type of content to fans, and another type of content to non-fans, thus providing a great way for brands to encourage Facebook users to “like” a page (e.g. non fans might see a message such as ‘Like us to access exclusive content or a 50% off coupon”). Wildfire’s
iFrame application provides exactly the same kind of ‘fan gate’ functionality and the best part is that it’s easy to use and requires no technical expertise. Additionally, by using our
iFrame app Wildfire takes care of hosting your content – something that Facebook used to handle via its FBML app but that companies must now handle themselves given Facebook’s change to iFrames for Pages.

It takes less than two minutes for you to get a fan gate up and running using Wildfire’s
iFrame application. All you need to do is
install the application and then click on ‘Edit Settings’. Here you can either upload an image to display as your landing page for fans or you can create a basic HTML landing page. After creating the landing page for fans, you can then create a different landing page for non-fans or, if you prefer not to have a fan gate, you can choose for fans and non-fans to see the same content.

Hi! Congrats! Looks great!
Is it possible to change the name of the app from Welcome to something else? It does not appear in My Apps from the Facebook Developers page…
I would surmise that the obvious workaround is to create your own app in the developer area, add this app to it, and then, in the settings, under the ‘Facebook Integration’ tab, set the page tab name to whatever you want it to be. Then add your app to your page…
Go to “Edit Info” –>”Apps”
Click “edit settings” under the Wildfire iFrames for pages and you will get the option to change the name from Welcome to something customized!
but where do you go to add content to the page?
this app seems broken. It just keeps asking me to install it, even though it’s already installed. When you try to edit it, it just lets you name the tab, then does nothing else. Not so useful at this point.
I agree. It does not do anything.
Hey Nicole,
Sounds like you’re logged in as a https secure connection– at this time, Facebook has a developer bug with that, its a known issue and they’re working on it. If you’re logging in as a https connection, you won’t see any iframes, they will appear blank. Hopefully they will resolve this soon!
With best regards,
Maya
Cool… sounds like quite a few people are having this issue. Do you have a work-around? Seems this app is practically useless until FB fix this https issue.
Hi all,
At this time, it seems that Facebook has fixed the issue. Hopefully it will not bother you guys again! :)
Is this the Josh from AAOAW?
I have the same issue. I can see Fan Page, but when someone click LIKE it shows blank and for me as administrator shows warning about https. I thought this was something wrong with iFrame template I use but found other Fan pages have the same issue. I wonder how long yet. People who LIKE my FP didn`t see video with more info
I added for those who LIKE. Today is April 11th
I just installed the app, and the FB page I added it
it to did not change
You don’t always have to click: go to app!
just click on it at the left, then you don’t get the question to install it (although it is already installed)…
This is not a fault of the app, it’s your fault :)
i cant get into the edit settings to load anything in, any idea why?
Hey Jo,
Make sure you’re logged in as the admin of that page when you’re trying to see it. When you are, you will see a big green “Edit Settings” button, and that’s where you can mess around with the app. See here: https://skitch.com/wildfiremaya/ru7b6/maya-eats-cake Hope that helps!
Awesome App and very helpful for people with less web design experience.
I had the same question as Anix about changing the name.
Also, I added code from a previous FBML page and there were a load of errors that came up. Could you make explain why that is? Do I still need to convert the FBML code to a server, or my personal wordpress account or another program before it can work with your program? Thanks!
Jason…did you figure this FBML error out or get reply?
Hey Jason,
At this time, the app understands simple HTML, and tags like table, tbody, thead, tfoot, th, tr, td, colgroup, col, caption. Anything else is not rendered at this time. Hope that helps!

I’m feeling very warm on the inside right now. I think I love you. This WILL get written up in Practical Ecommerce. What a wonderful gift you’re giving lots of amateur Facebook page creators.
Thanks so much, Paul! We appreciate your support and are so glad you like it!
Paul, I’m feeling very technologically challenged – not a good place to be when I call myself a technology coach.
The application is installed, but it appears my connections are https instead of http. Yikes! I have new clients anxious for a welcome page.
BTW, have you started collecting Mardi Gras beads yet?
Kathy,
Now that Facebook has fixed the https bug, we hope you dig the app! BTW, we also had some King Cake in the office and it was fabulous! :)
Is it possible to only have a fan gate for non-fans, and make the default landing page the wall for fans.
Right now it seems both fans and non fans have to be submitted to a holding page before interacting, only the messages differ – is that correct?
I have the same question. Wondering if Maya can answer it!
Hi Jeff and Darius,
Thanks for your message! There is no way to switch the app functionality to display one thing to non-fans and the wall to others. There will need to be two images, or just one (without a fan gate.) In any case, the idea is to give fans a reason to click for something interesting…most of the time, clicking just to land on the wall isn’t considered a worthwhile reward. Hope that helps!
maya, i can’t get the page to show up as the default landing page. any thoughts? thanks in advance.
I’m with taylor… in “manage permissions” set the default tab to be the new “Welcome” app but my fans still see wall when they first get to our page.
Cristobal and Taylor,
Sounds funky. Without looking at your setups, I won’t be able to diagnose the issue. Do me a favor and take a screenshot of what you’re looking at when the setup is messed up– the entire screen. Then send it to iframesapp@wildfireapp.com and I will make sure to follow up on those Q’s soon!
With best regards,
Maya
By Facebook default, all fans who go to your page land on the wall, unless they click a link that takes them to a different tab.
I’m having the same issue as taylor. I’ve set WELCOME as the default landing page, but I keep getting taken to the Wall. I’ve emptied my cache, deleted cookies, etc.
I’m also having the same issue. It’s loaded under the welcome tab, but the landing page is my wall. Thanks.
I am having the same issue. The default is
set to Welcome but it just takes me to the wall
when I log in to my page. I’ve logged out,
cleared cache etc.
Elaine, it takes you to the wall because you ARE a fan of your own page. The default only is applicable to *NON* fans– they will all land on this page. The Facebook assumption is that if you’re ALREADY a fan, like you are, you don’t need to be taken anywhere BUT the wall, since this is where fans interact. Makes sense when you think about it that way, right? Anyway, to test, log out of Facebook and THEN go to your page…if you land on the landing tab, you know you’ve done it right. Hope that helps!
Exactly the same issue….uploaded, set to land on welcome but still taken tto the wall. Anyone get this resolved? April 16
Davdi, it takes you to the wall because you ARE a fan of your own page. The default only is applicable to *NON* fans– they will all land on this page. Maya,
Then why do 2 landing pages, one for fans and
one for non-fans if the fans will always hit the
wall.
Maybe I don’t understand the functionality of this
app as it relates to fangating.
@Elaine, the fan gate works its best magic when it converts a non-fan into a fan– that is, a person landed on it who is not a fan, you’ve put together an awesome page that CONVINCES them to become a fan, and they press “LIKE” at that moment and become a fan– then it automagically changes into the second page you created, their “reward” fan view. That’s really the purpose of the page, and why you want to use the tool to create a beautiful and compelling one, to make those conversions happen. It’s not quite the same for users who visit who are already fans, since they’re already converted, and you’re not working to convert them again. Hope that makes sense!
@ Maya yes, even with me looked out, and full reset of browser of all cookies and cache I still get the wall. It doesn’t go to the fangate. Also the commenter above brings up a valid point, if you are stating that fans go to the wall, why do you indeed have two start points? Have already lost faith in this app. If you find a solution let me know otherwise ill likely remove.
Maya, from what I have seen you say below on other posts, if a fan was a fan before I installed the app, then they will not see the fan only page, but be taken to the wall. If a person becomes a fan after the app is installed then on future visits they will be taken to the fan page first. Is this correct? I would venture to guess that almost all of the admins who install this app are already fans of their page. If I am clear on this then depending on when someone becomes a fan, what they will see when they visit the page is either wall or fan page. Maybe this is the source of the confusion for the many admins who don’t see the fan page when they visit. If I log out and go to page I do see the non-fan page.
If this is expected behavior than you should include a note in the installation instructions that to test it admns who are already fans need to find someone who is not already a fan, ask them to become a fan and then ask them to go to the page and see if they see the fan page rather than the wall. I think this would save everyone a lot of trouble. Or could we “unlike” the page, then like it, then go there again and check.
Unless by “un-liking” a page we somehow lose admin priviledges.
You shouldn’t unfan your page, you don’t want to lose those privileges. Just find someone like a colleague or a family member and look over their shoulder– any fan re-visiting your fan page will land on the Wall. The Welcome tab you created will still be there and be clickable, but it will show as the “Fans” view for those folks. People landing on the page for the first time as NON fans will see your welcome tab, and hopefully they convert to become fans (if you did a good job convincing them) …once they click, then, in that visit, the page will switch to the FAN view for them. Any future visits by that person, and he will land on the wall.
Maya,
Maybe it is just me but I misunderstood the
function of the fan page. I thought they would
always land there so we could show offers that
may vary from time to time. So you are saying
each person only lands on each of the fan
gate pages once. The first time they land on the
non-fan page, get the offer to become a fan,
click the link, become a fan, see the fan page
that visit only. So any future visits they will only
see the wall and we can not use the fan page
for them from that point forward.
I think that needs to be spelled out, because
will be some admins, like me, who would want
fans to land on the fan wall every time they
come so we could offer them something new.
Whatever the behavior is, it needs to be spelled
out so we can plan accordingly.
Dear Maya,
I’ve installed, created a page and checked out the preview.
I’ve set the landing page on my “Welcome” tab (your iframestab),
but still I get directed to the wall!
Unlike other people, I do understand that IF you’re already a fan, you don’t have to see this page anymore. Because the main reason is to convince non-fans to become a fan!
Although, I made a special, seperate and totally different user on Facebook, just to check out the app as a non-fan. With this test-user and logged out of my original user, I still get directed to the wall?
Can you help me please?
Thank you !
I’m very sorry, but I already found out how to fix it!
Thank you anyways!
Oh and btw, I love your app! I don’t think it is useless! On the contrary, it’s a very easy and good working (+cheap) marketingtool!
Kind regards
Great news! Thanks Mats!
THANK YOU
Anyone knows how Mats solved the problem? I asked a friend to “dislike” the facebook page in wich I installed the app and then become fan again.
Meanwhile he wasn’t fan he saw NON-fans version landing, but when he became fan again he saw the wall instead of FANS vesrion landing configured in the settings of the app.

Hey Roseli,
We love it too! Thanks so much for your kind words!
The fan gate did not install with my installation. How do I resolve this.?
Thanks
…darleen
Same here. How do I fix it?
Hey Darleen,
What exactly happened? Which of these steps did not go as planned for you?
Step 1: Go to http://iframes.wildfireapp.com/
Step 2: Click the “Install this app” button
Step 3: Allow permissions to the app
Step 4: Add the app to your page
Step 5: Sign-up for the app
Step 6: Edit the settings for the app
Step 7: Save & Preview
Let us know, we will review.
I have the app all installed and can see it in admin mode and can edit it too. But when I sign out and come back in it seems to be gone and look the same as it always did landing on my wall. Can you help me with this?
Hey Holly,
You can change the landing tab to be the Welcome tab in your Page settings, so when you log back in, go to “Edit Page” and you will find the setting for “Default Landing Tab” in those options. Hope that helps!
Hey Maya, Now that Facebook has the new timeline and the landing page setting is no longer in place, how do I get ‘fans’ to like the page if the fan gate is no longer in effect? PLEASE HELP!
Hi Kyle…the same way you used to— by fan gating compelling and enticing content. Users will ALWAYS land on your Timeline now, unless you direct paid ad traffic to specific links, but all of your custom apps can still be fan gated, if you want to make sure users have to click “Like” to see the content beyond the page.
Awesome! Will be installing this tonight. Thank you!
changed landing page to welcome page under edit page but it still lands on wall page. help please.

Wondering though what the charge is going to be after the 3 months free is over???
Hey Kim!
If you’ve installed the app, you won’t need to pay at any time in the future. As for what it WILL cost, stay tuned! The pricing is not yet confirmed on our end either! :)
I got an error message. I used Firefox — is that an issue?
HI Sheri,
Sounds like you’re logged in as a https secure connection– at this time, Facebook has a developer bug with that, its a known issue and they’re working on it. If you’re logging in as a https connection, you won’t see any iframes, they will appear blank. Hopefully they will resolve this soon!
With best regards,

I have the same issue with Firefox, EVEN when I log out (so not the login as https you refer to).
Thus, it can be used with IE but not Firefox even when logged out.
All you see is a blank white page. Not good for all the increasing FireFox users!
Can’t we add many tabs as we can do with FBML?
Hey Juan,
Thanks for your message! Since this is a ‘Welcome’ app, you can’t install it more than once. It is not an FBML alternative, but an iFrame app that Wildfire developed that you can use to create simple landing pages. You will not be able to add it more than once, the same way you can’t add an existing application more than once. Hope that helps!
hi Maya,
I manage several fan pages for local companies. Is there any way to
install iFrame on more pages, even paying a fee ?
Congrats!
David
Hey David,
You can install one iFrames app to as many pages as you want– the limitation is one per PAGE, but as many pages as you manage is fine, and still FREE! :) Hope that helps!
is it possible to add some css code into the html? or its just pure html?
Hey Randy!
Simple HTML at this point, really enough to make a beautiful landing page for those people who don’t want to build their own iFrames app. Hope that helps!

The concept of the app looks great, but is there any documentation on what html tags are supported. I tried to load a html file with images and video embedded and I got a bunch of errors including html tag is not allowed. I am not sure how html compliant the code should be. Also is there support for css or do I code all styles in-line?
Hey Jon,
Thanks for your message and suggestion! I chatted with the developers and it looks like they’ve added a list of supported tags when you’re in edit mode! Should be helpful for you!
With best regards,

Hi there – so far so good, the app has been really easy to install and customize for my client. However, I would like to embed a youtube video and have not been able to do so using embed codes or iframes codes from youtube. Can anyone point me toward more information?
Thanks!
~KJ
KJ, Thanks for your message! The app will only render a collection of simple HTML tags, which you can see when you’re in edit mode (which ones they are.)
Hope that helps!
Maya
Hi, Maya …
I’m sure I’m missing something, but I don’t see a list of acceptable html tags when I’m in edit mode.
Does this mean I can’t embed video on a page? That seems wrong, since I know I’ve seen video on other landing pages within facebook. Is the limitation with wildfire, or with facebook?
Thanks,
~KJ
I installed but I don’t get how to use it. I don’t see anything different and there is no link for “Edit Settings” Please tell me how to use this app. Thanks.
Hey Sherry!
If you’re logged in as the admin of your page, and you go to your page after you install it, make sure to click to the “Welcome” tab, from the left tabs panel. When you click on that tab, you still don’t see it? If not, send a screenshot of what you see to iframesapp@wildfireapp.com and we will investigate further for you!
With best regards,
Maya
OK, when I went back in as page admin I do see the Welcome tab on the left sidebar. But, it now appears that I am having the same issue that others are having with the https connection. The welcome page is blank when. So, does this mean that we can’t use the app until FB fixes it? And, we will need to re-install after they do that? Thanks for your reply.
Hey Sherry,
It should be all fixed now, so hope all is well!
The iFrame app shows as installed but I cannot access anything to make changes other than changing the Welcome name. Continually wants me to install the app again. Any idea as to why this is happening?
Figured it out! Must be using http and not https.
Hey Helen,
Yes, this is actually a known Facebook bug that they’re working on…soon that should not bother you anymore, the http v https issue! Thanks for your message!
I just installed the app and added my custom html with an a href and complete external URL path to an image I am hosting on my server. This worked fine when I had the same code in FBML but now the image is not showing on the iFrame welcome page. The space where the image should appear is linked but no image, just white. Any suggestions?

What can I do if I want only non-fans to see my custom HTML landing page, but I want all current fans to land on the wall? Doesn’t seem like there’s functionality to allow for that.
Is that really the best way to send current fans to your wall? Seems like an unnecessary click and adds more friction. I simply want non-fans to see the custom iFrame, and current fans to go directly to my wall.
Darius,

Cristobal,
Have you uploaded different images for fans and non fans? If you have, this is a great way to give non fans a reason to click (click here to see the OTHER image)…if you have not, they’re probably clicking and seeing nothing.
If you don’t want to submit two images, make sure you edit your settings to NOT have a fan gate– then you can upload a single image only. Check out this GREAT example of how you can use our app to display a fan-gated image: http://www.facebook.com/DormRoomMovers
Can we put Google Analytics code into this?
Hey Sean,
Thanks for your message! I would venture a guess to say no, since it only accepts simple HTML. However, if you include a link with a trackable analytics tag, and people click on it, this might be one way that Google tracking might work for you. Hope that helps!
I’ve got it installed but can’t find the settings to make it show up automatically when someone goes to my page. Right now my wall is just showing up. Any thoughts?
nevermind! I figured it out!
how?
How? please help me!
I appreciate your effort, but don’t you think that some documentation would be useful for people? Like what are the specs for the images and different examples of messaging? I had to uninstall until this is slightly clearer.
Hey Stephanie!
Thanks for the feedback! Like all iFrames, the sizing is preferred to be Facebook tab size, which is 520 px, but if larger, you will get the scroll bars. At this time the application processes simple HTML, great for folks who want to easily put up an attractive page, but doesn’t render all functions. Some tags added today include: table, tbody, thead, tfoot, th, tr, td, colgroup, col, caption
Hope that helps!
i can’t get the welcome page to actually set as my default landing page for people that visit our fan page. any thoughts?
Try logging out of Facebook and going to see your Fan Page. Our tab should be the welcome page by default, you’re probably not seeing it because you’re logged in. Did that work for you?
works fine with me on 2 pages, great job Wildfire.
Woo hoo! Thanks Jorge!
Can you create multiple tabs with this like you can with FBML for one companies fan page?
Hey Jerry,
Unfortunately, since this is an app, you cannot create multiple tabs on one page. With FBML, you were actually creating a unique app each time…but this is a single app, and single apps can’t be repeated on one page instance.
Nothing works. I tried to transfer the code from my FBML to here and I get a bunch of errors. I have a email form and an external stylesheet. I tried then placing the CSS internally and still same errors. Can’t get it to work SMH. Seems like this app doesn’t allow much of anything.
Samara,
The purpose of this app is to provide an easy way for folks to display a great looking fan gate for their page. Its super simple to upload an image or two images (one for fans and one for non fans) to display to visitors. It even accepts simple HTML. It is not meant to render complex code, but rather to appeal to the majority of users, who don’t want to code out a complicated page. Sounds like you have enough technical capacity to create an iFrames app of your own, to get your email form to work the way you want.
Will this affect previously existing reveal tabs? Or does this mean we just can’t create new ones but the old one are OK?
Old reveal tabs using FBML will continue to work, but you won’t be able to update or make changes to them. This is the new solution, iFrames are meant to replace FBML in any instances you were going to use it.
Can someone please post an example of them using this plugin on a fan page?
Thanks.
Yes, check out http://www.facebook.com/everlymedia
I am going into managing permissions, making all the changes, but it still doesn’t seem to be working. any thoughts from anyone? http://www.facebook.com/tuckerblair?ref=ts

Ooh, nice updates Taylor! I see the offer for an exclusive discount and the 25% off when you become a fan– that’s a GREAT way to incentivize people to click!

Also check out this awesome example: http://www.facebook.com/DormRoomMovers
Thank you for providing this solution. I don’t know what I would have told clients if there wasn’t something immediately available.
I have a question:
if we previously created FBML tabs, will those totally disappear from view after the change? I want to do screenshots for my portfolio if this is the case.
Hi Beja,
Anything previously created won’t disappear, but you won’t be able to create any new FBML apps at all. Screenshots are always a good idea for preservation’s sake, but you don’t need to worry about all your previously developed pages POOF and disappearing! :) Hope that helps!
I just installed it and I have two questions:
1. Is it possible to direct users who have already liked your brand to your wall?
2. Can anybody tell me how to move tabs in the new Facebook design? I can’t figure it out.
Thanks!
Hey Krista!

Re #2, you should be in “Edit Page” mode (click on that) and THEN you’re able to drag and drop the tab panels. Tricky, I know!
Correct me if I’m mistaken, but is the wall not the default landing tab for fans, anyway? The default page, as set by admins, only works for non-fans, no?
Hey Sean,
Great distinction, looks like you’re totally right, but it depends on WHEN the clicking is going on. The first time you visit a page, if you’re not a fan, you get the gated picture. If you BECOME a fan then, you get the FAN only picture.
However, if you were always a fan, and you visit the page, you’re on the wall. It’s all about the timing, the most important people to capture afresh are those people you want to CONVERT to fans. Anyway, all fans have access to the tab just by clicking on it, so they still have access.
Maya,
Is there any way to make the page be shown to existing users. We just launched a site and wanted to use your app to let them know about our new site.
I logged out to check but the landing page was still my wall
and then i asked a random person to visit the page and the same thing happened -__-
The design of the app looks great, best ever!
Facebook will still be supporting all tabs that have previously been created using FBML. However, you will not be able to create any more tabs in FBML. I think it’s important for people to understand that distinction.
Installed it, went as admin but saw nothing on the left…
Miguel,
You don’t need to log in as an admin, simply go to your page that you’ve installed it on and go to the tab itself, there is a green “Edit Settings” button, which is where you will fix the settings up. Hope that helps!
I installed it on one of my pages and it gave me the option to enter my html code the FIRST time, but then it will not let me get back to that edit page again, nor will it bring me back to that page again for the other FB pages on which I installed it. So far, cannot use it at all. Please keep us updated. Great idea, but not working yet.
Lynn,
If you go to the fan page for which you’ve installed the app, and simply click on the tab, in a logged in state– can you edit the settings using the green button? If not, please send a screenshot of what you’re seeing (the whole screen) to iframesapp@wildfireapp.com and we can investigate further. Cheers!
What’s the difference between the wildfire app and iwipa?
Wildfire’s credit, for non-paying users, is less obtrusive. However, IWIPA’s does allow for a heck of a lot more customization. As a quick and easy fan-gating option, though, Wildfire’s is the clear winner by a country mile
If all you want to show is 2 images and call it winning, then yes.
iwipa allows you to build an entire website, no comparison whats so ever.
You can embed videos, flash, java, iframes, slidshows, maps.. on and on.
this app only allows you to embed images.
hmmm, my exact words were:
“As a quick and easy fan-gating option”.
I also clearly stated that IWIPA allows for a “heck of a lot
more customization”
Anyway, you’re wrong. It doesn’t only allow for embedding
of images.
It appears you don’t read very well…
I was able to uset it after stripping my coding quite a bit. I see you can’t use external stylesheets, iframes, video embeds, or forms which sucks, but I was able to work around it to make a work for me.
Here is my fan page using the FBML: http://www.facebook.com/ambrosiahair?v=app_7146470109
Here’s the wildfire page: http://www.facebook.com/ambrosiahair?v=app_201143516562748
Not much of a difference so far, except I can’t use my email form any longer. I plan on adding a link to the form instead.
How did iframe or embed those other pages in there? I tried to use the iframe code and it didn’t work. I’m ok with them having to click on a picture to show it like yours does, but how? Any help would really be appreciated! Thanks!
Hi Samara – Great job on your wildfire page! I’m definitely less experienced in html and was wondering if you wouldn’t mind sharing your html tips?
(like how you got your photo link border to be pink and how you were able to place multiple photos with different links within the app)
.
When I edit settings my only option is to change the name of the tab, what am I doing wrong??
Hey Isaac,
Sounds like you’re trying to edit by being logged in to the Edit Settings on your Facebook Page. Instead, you want to be editing the settings right in the tab for the Welcome app! Simply go to the tab, and if you’re logged in, you will see a green “Edit Settings” button. Hope that helps!
Just a note for those who are trying to install this today and getting the https:// issue noted above. WAIT for it…. it seems that there’s a delay before the correct page resolves. Once it catches up to itself this is a breeze to set up. Nice app!
Thanks Jen!

Hi, I just installed the application and after filling the form I get this error message:
We’re sorry, but something went wrong.
We’ve been notified about this issue and we’ll take a look at it shortly.
Great seems to work fine. Is anyone able to provide a link to the actual official Facebook announcement about switching from FBML to iFrames?
This is probably a silly question but can your provide specs for images. I would like know what size image would work best with this app??Thanks for any insight.
@george: 520 pixels wide
Hi,
May I know how to increase the number of iFrame? Currently I’ve already installed the app but I can’t seem to put additional tab. I can only have 1 tab.
Hey Angeline,
Thanks for your message! You can only install one app per page, since its a standalone application. You can develop as many as you want, but only install one instance of the Wildfire app. Hope that helps!
If facebook is getting rid of FBML, how is one supposed to embed video on the custom HTML page for “fans”?
Hey JGreen,
You can do that with your own iFrames app– just develop it from scratch as you would with FBML coded from scratch! The Wildfire app is meant for easy fan gating…complicated stuff like videos is definitely possible, but you’d still need to code it out.
Is there any way I can stop getting the email notifications on all these comments, I forgot to un-tick the box on my first comment and am getting flooded, lol.
Check the email that this causes you to get, there is an unsubscribe link.
Just unsubscribe for it. I did the same thing earlier
Exactly! Believe it or not, I get them too! The unsubscribe thing is easy. :)
hey this is cool but im just not getting how I make the welcome page the default landing page, I did see that option when i first made my page and i choose the info page as my default page but now I have no idea how to change it to be the welcome page. any thoughts?
thanks.
anyone? anyone?
Hey Rob,
Try logging out, and going to your page. I think you will find that is IS the default! You may just not see it that way because you’re logged in, the admin, AND a fan. Did that work for you?
sorry, it didnt work for me :S
I installed the app, but every link I add to it goes back to your site! Very annoying. If I can’t set my own links I’ll have to uninstall it.
Hi Lia,
You can definitely set your own links. They should not be going back to Wildfire, that sounds funky. Why don’t you send some more details about your setup to iframesapp@wildfireapp.com and we’ll investigate?
faceBook is NOT removing FBML for EXISTING pages, just for new ones. You can continue to edit and display existing fbml.
the idea of an iframes app is good, but yours doesn’t work with out code. I prefer to ‘host” my own code anyway, and more control over the appearance.
But your heart is in the right place. :-)
Thanks, and its the heart that matters. :P
Is it possible to add this app to more than one Page? I tried, without success…
yes… go to the “iFrames for Pages” Facebook Fan Page, then click on ‘add to my page” on the left hand column… that will pull up all of the pages you are an admin for
Unfortunatelly, it doesn’t work with non-English characters. My text got messed up.
Aw man! You could always insert an IMAGE of your text properly set up. That would work!
My browser still says https:// … so what do I do, it keeps telling me to install the app, then says the app is already installed :(
Should be working now, no? Facebook fixed that bug.
I’m not succeeding to make “welcome” be the landing page… always goes to the wall… Please HELP!
under managing permissions you can see an arrow to select default landing page.
I want to create MORE tabs using this app, but that does not seem possible… will there be a solution for this? Or am I just doing something wrong?
We have about 3 custom tabs now, but with no FBML we can’t keep that up, and we wanted to use this app to create several iFrame tabs.
Would be great if somebody could help us :)
Hey Stefan,
Since this is a Facebook app, you can only install one instance of it per page. With FBML, you were essentially coding one new app each time…but this is different. You can always build your own iFrames, if you need to. Hope that helps!
I am unable to add an image ? The box is not letting me to click it.
That’s strange! Definitely take a screenshot and send it over to iframesapp@wildfireapp.com, we will investigate.
My question is the same as Sean’s can the application be used for more than 1 page for admins who manage multiple FanPages?
You can use it for as many pages as you want! Just not more than once per page. Hope that helps!
Hi there –
I installed this app in the hope that it would allow me to include iFrames. Yet when the Custom HTML option is selected this message appears: ‘Please note: Scripts, Forms, iFrames, and external CSS are not allowed.’
Am I missing something? I thought being able to include iFrames was the whole point of an iFrame app? Or is it that the app itself is iframing content from elsewhere, so that to iframe an iFrame would just be meta-iFraming?! Sorry if I’m being really stupid about this!
Hey Wolley,
Well put, with the meta-iFraming. Meta can be confusing. :)
Essentially the purpose of this iFrame app is to give folks a SUPER easy, FREE way to put up an iFrame Welcome page! It’s not meant to be a complete Static FBML (app) replacement, it can only render simple HTML. If you want to build your own completely custom pages, you’d have to build your own iFrames. Sounds like this is what you’re trying to do. But with our app, we just wanted to give most people exactly what it is they used FBML for– simple Welcome landing tabs! :)
Love the app. How do I set it so this app is the default landing spot for everyone? I can see the tab down the left side but am not sure that it’s “working”. I tested it with just a jpg but would like to add buttons to send people to our events calendar, website or to sign up for our mailing list. Any suggestions? I am not experienced at html but usually can figure things out… Thanks for the help.
Hey Allison!
When you install it, it should automatically become the default for non fans. Test this by logging out of Facebook and visiting your page– I think you’ll find that this is already the case. Was I right?
It seems to go there but my image is not showing up. It says Welcome on the title be the frame is blank. I’m going to try something else, but am open to troubleshooting ideas.
Hey Allison,
Try again now…some people have reported a slight delay in when they see their images. Is it there now? If not, link to your page. We can investigate some more. With best regards,
Maya

Works great guys! I’ve installed on 2 different pages. One will be a fan gate and the other is just a custom tab. Awesome app!
Thanks Chris! We’re so glad you dig it!
I do not work. If I go to the application I get the icon to download
Obviously when I “click” I said that already installed. It may be that even in Spain does not work?
I can not use. The application tells me: “Fan included for free gated”
What should I do?.
Hi,
I’m running out of options here. I like your app and I want to use it for my client, the hiccup is that under what “fans” see, I have three images stacked one on top of another.
Image 1
Image 2 (has a link on it)
Image 3 (also has a link on it)
Works seamlessly in Safari. But I can’t use internal CSS, or certain HTML tags to remove the BORDERS that the LINKS create around said images for Firefox.
If there is no way to fix that I’m afraid I can’t use this good app… :(
Hey Kaz,
Sorry it doesn’t look the same across all borders! Unfortunately if it won’t render using the tags that we set up, then you might need to consider building in that functionality with your own iFrames app. :X
Hope it does though!
So this new change will not effect reveal tabs that were already running, right? Because so far all of my FBML tabs are still looking good.
Hey Reid,
Yes, they don’t change, you just can’t update them or add new ones. Cheers!

I installed this app yesterday and ran into the https problem so I couldn’t customize it. I saw that the issue was fixed today so I tried again but no luck. I can only change the name of the tab when I edit the settings. Any suggestions?
Anna,
Make sure you’re pressing the Green “Edit Settings” button right from within the tab, not the “Edit Page” button on the Facebook Fan Page. Go to the tab while you’re logged in, you will see it there. That should do the trick.
Can you make more than one custom tab per fan page using this application?
Hey Charles,
Thanks for your message! Unfortunately, you cannot. Only one instance of the app will run on your page. You can use it on unlimited pages though! Hope that helps!
Hi,
I’m fairly new to this all. Is there a way to embed a video for the landing page?
Thanks!
-Katie
Hey Katie!
Thanks for your message! You can see a list of the accepted HTML tags that will render for you in our app– if you can get those to render a video, that’s what you’re looking for.
With best regards,
Maya
Is there any sample html code for this app that can be used as an example? I do my own web stuff but don’t know squat about iframes.
Thank you in advance.
Hey Andy!
Unfortunately there is no sample code available. However, if you do your own web stuff, to my understanding its the same HTML code! All the rest of the iframes tagging stuff is taken care of by us, so you don’t need to worry about that. However, we only have some simple HTML functionalities built in, so you won’t be able to do everything you usually are able to. The full list is available in edit mode of the app. Hope that helps!
THANK YOU!!! I knew that Facebook was switching to iframes so I attempted to get ahead of the curve for the pages that I manage.
But I could not for the life of me figure out how to do it!!
So thank you, thank you, thank you for this app!!
You saved me hours of frustration!
Thanks Laura!! We’re so glad you dig it!

I go to the application and I get a big blue icon that says: “install app” Gated Fan included for Free. “When I click, I say logically that is already installed the application.
Sounds interesting! If you could, please send a screenshot in to iframesapp@wildfireapp.com and we’ll investigate. :)

How to add more than 1 custom tab. I can’t seem to add it.
Hey Angeline,
You can only add one instance of the app to a single page (but as many pages as you want.) Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! :(
My business page is attached to my personal profile. How do I make sure the landing page is applied to my business page and not my personal one?
Hey Shelley,
Easy! Wildfire apps only work with Fan Pages, not personal ones. :)
Hi I have made a welcome tab and it shows up when I click on ‘welcome’ on the left hand side of our page under our logo. However if you just go to our facebook page, you get the wall and not the welcome tab.
have the same problem as Kathryn
I have the App installed but cannot add content. Every time I click Go to App I am asked to Switch from my business FB page to my personal FB page. The App is installed on my business page and that is where I want to use it. If I click Continue as xxx I am asked to install the App again, if I click InstalI I am asked to Choose a Page, but because the App is already installed the page is not available to Select…..!
How do I get the window to add content to open when I select Go to App?
Received an email saying Rob had responded to my post but not seeing anything….?
Hey Toni,
Instead of doing that, simply go to the fan page in question. Do you already see the app there? You can probably manipulate it already, too! You shouldn’t need to mess around and choose to install it again. If this is not the case and simply visiting that fan page doesn’t work, send more details to iframesapp@wildfireapp.com and we will investigate. Cheers!
Thank you. Finally it opened the edit window rather the install window when I clicked Edit Settings.
Question — are you going to enable it to include video?
The old is not allowed,
nor any youTube or code
My landing page is working, but only for non FB members even though I setup to show for both. Existing Fans go to my Wall.
Also, to expand on my reply above that was abbreviated — the old App would allow video using the fb:swf tag. That is not allowed with your new app, neither YouTube’s iframe or object code. Is this going to be added?
Thanks
Hey Toni,
We don’t have immediate plans to add that functionality to this app. Also, try logging out of your admin account to see the settings of the app…if you’re a regular user, not an admin, you get dropped on the wall?
If I go to Facebook page not logged in, I am taken to the Welcome page.
If I go to Facebook page as someone else who has already Liked my page (but not myself or an Admin) they are taken to my Wall even though I have set the Welcome page to be the Gate for all
I even tried putting the same code for both options, Fan View and Non Fan View. Same problem Fan goes to Wall not Welcome page
Please, would it be possible to coexist with FBML and Iframe so many applications out there? Delete it would be very upsetting to many
Thanks!
Hey Andres,
If only we had that kind of control! At this time, it really is 100% dependent on Facebook which frameworks they support. They have publicly declared that FBML is being phased out, and iFrames are whats in. It’s best for us to adapt as soon as possible, as I am sure you agree! :)
Is there any way to link to another tab from this app? Anything i link within facebook pulls a facebook logo… which then clicks through to the tab i wanted to link to.
Hmm, good question David. Has anybody experienced this and knows a good work around? I have not tested this yet… I’ll give you a virtual gold star!
just add target=”_top” (opens in the same browser tab/window) or target=”_blank” opens in a new browser tab/window) to your link.
target=”_top” is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
You can add more than one tab per page?
When I have I can not add more.
Nor does the HTML I
Thanks!
Hi Wildfire,
I’m hoping you can advise me – I am not a developer or programmer and so I’m not going to be able to provide detailed technical descriptions here…
I am basically trying to set up a html calendar on our page. I am currently testing it on a test page I keep for these purposes. However, while the html calendar looks fine and dandy the problem is that when you click on a link in it to learn more about one of the particular courses we are running, it does not open a new tab leading to our website. Instead the relevant course page from our website loads directly in the frame. The problem with this is that the frame is not wide enough to display the whole page.
So, I am wondering: is there anything I can do to ensure that external links open in a new tab / window? Or, is there any way I can custom fit my iframe code to ensure that external website pages fit fully into the frame? Again, I don’t really know what I’m doing here, so if you can give me the idiot version, that would be appreciated! :)
Thanks,
T
Templeton,
Try Remy’s tip to “just add target=”_top” (opens in the same browser tab/window) or target=”_blank” opens in a new browser tab/window) to your link.”
Does that help? Hopefully!
Thanks Maya – I’ll give it a go :)
I cant add a background image via html can someone assist me with getting a code that ill work properly? THANKS!!! :)
Ive been searching for quite some time btw…
Hmmm, so far, once loaded it tells me that I can’t use iFrames or forms in my html. I thought this was an iFrame app?!
Kind of useless to me at this point. I wanted to easily create a page with active html (with links, nav buttons, etc). I find the FB developer app too complicated so far and was hoping this was a viable option. sigh….
Hi Dorothy,
Essentially the purpose of this iFrame app is to give folks a SUPER easy, FREE way to put up an iFrame Welcome page! :)
Will you be adding functionality to the iFrame app? Most important being the ability to hot-spot the image for linking to other parts of the Facebook page, but also potentially the ability to embed other media.
Hey Kevin,
At this time, we have no plans to add advanced functionality to this app. You can definitely accomplish your ideas by building your own custom iFrames app– as many as you want! Our app was made for simple landing pages, and the assistance of folks who want those simple, completely intuitive landing pages. Hope that helps!
thiis is on my facebook of things i use and i would like to delete it. i tried and i don’t know how so i reported it as spam. i need to get it off of my facebook. i don’t want it . please help me. i cAlled the number listed and there was no one there and it just disconnected after ringing about 30 times. please help me remove this. i hope you will email me because i would not know where to find the answer. i am only on facebook for my friends. this is just not right. thank u.
Hi Mark,
Simply go to your account settings in Facebook and remove all the apps you don’t want to use anymore. I’m sure you’ll find a lot of neat stuff there you also want to edit or change. Good luck!
You need to be sure when you sign up for this app to read the “Terms and Conditions”. This may be allowing third party advertisers access to your friends and fans. Also it allows this application the right to change their Terms and Conditions at any time.
Hi,
I installed the app, but then when I want to edit it it gives sends me back to the installation page. I am not at a secure location.
Can you support an add button for another page? I use the HTML code but it is not working. I didn´t work on FBML either. Can you do something about it.
By the way I love the fan gate included.
Thanks,
Esteban
Hi Esteban,
Thanks for your message! Make sure you’re attempting to edit not from the Facebook pages “Edit” button, but from the Green Edit Settings button right inside the iFrames app page! Go to the tab and then click on the button inside of the picture. Hope that helps!

Hi Maya,

david
I have the same problem. I’ve tried logging out of Facebook, but it still brings me to the wall.
I managed to make the welcome tab the official landing page,
you need to go to your page’s editor, it’s above on the right side.
What you can’t do is to chose a different landing page for fans or
not fans, at least I can’t see how….
Hey David,
Thanks for your message! You shouldn’t have to have a different landing page for fans and not fans (not that its possible) because you can have a different view of THE SAME page for fans and non fans. Hope that helps!
THANK YOU David! This is exactly what I was looking for.
Hey David,
Thanks for your message! Try logging out, and looking at the page from a non-admin’s perspective. Because when you’re logged in, you’re an admin, you will see the wall, but it should be the default landing page for everyone that’s not you. :)
I want open second tab. What it´s the way, please?
Thanks
I would love to know how to add a second iframes tab to my page. Thanks.
At this time, you can only add one instance of an app to your fan page. You can run it on as many fan pages as you want, but just one on each. This is a limitation of all apps developed on Facebook– two instances won’t run on one page. The notable exception was FBML, but that was because each time you developed a new FBML page, the code made the application unique each time. With all other apps, you can only add one instance.
I did not know Facebook Iframe tab allows only one per page. So we will not put more than one in our pages. This is bad news …
Sorry! That’s the nature of any apps– you can’t add more than one instance to a page. In the case of FBML, each time you created a page, you created a “NEW” static FBML app, so it was unique every time and you could add as many as you wanted to a page. Same with iFrames, if you make a custom app each time. But this is not a custom app, but a Wildfire app. Hope that makes sense!
Thanks Maya for your response, so that we understand, I can only create a tab Iframe per page, not like before with FBML had many tabs …
Thanks Maya
That’s exactly right. When you were creating FBML, each time you did it, it was effectively a brand new FBML app…it was always unique. This is one instance of an app and cannot be made unique each time.
Hi, thank you so much for this app.
when I see my fan page as an visitor the app is not loading, I have to reload the page with my browser to see it working. Any other has this issue? or its only me
Thanks for the new EASY app! I tried the FBML so many times and couldn’t figure it out.
My questions is, I’m looking for an app that allows feeds of sorts. My catalog is available via .pdf link and I thought it would be so great to be able to feed that to an app on my fan page for people to browse my catalog right there on my FB fan page! Is something like this available??
I’m still getting this error msg when trying to install the app…
We’re sorry, but something went wrong.
We’ve been notified about this issue and we’ll take a look at it shortly.
Great app! Just one question…is it possible to include multiple Fan Gate tabs on one page?
Hey Clayton,
Thanks for your message! No, it is not. You can use as many as you want for as many PAGES as you want, but it wont install more than once per page. Sorry about that!
Hi, is it possible to customize your icons with the wildfire app?
This would be really useful – please let me know if possible.
Am i doing something massively wrong here:
Pasted in html code to wildfire app and got a huge list of errors like:
‘html’ is not an allowed HTML tag
‘head’ is not an allowed HTML tag
‘title’ is not an allowed HTML tag
‘title’ is not an allowed HTML tag
‘content’ is not an allowed HTML attribute
Doing it the same way i designed other facebook pages. Just a quick page designed in dreamweaver, but does not like it at all..
Cheers
So I added the app to my Page & changed the Landing Page to be the “Welcome” page, but when you go to the page it still goes to the wall & not the Welcome Page. FB bug, iFrame bug, or I am doing something wrong??
Great app… but can i also inter a aweberform ! i hope it can
The tabs Iframes, missing in my pages Facebook…¿?
As long as I am accessing FB with https, I don’t see the tab. With simple http it’s working though.
Hey Melanie,
Looks like the http v https bug is not yet fixed by Facebook, or else is recurring. Hang tight, they are working on a fix, and you should be able to see the app in both settings soon!
Hi,
With the new iframes welcome tab, i can only see it now in one admin view. Just wondering how i can fix this problem
Hi!
I read that the https error was fixed but I seem to be missing all tabs for non-facebook apps on my fan page when on https. Wildfire, networked blogs and mail chimp are all gone. I noticed the same when I go on bigger sites like red bulls and starbucks’s fan page as well. Is this still an issue.
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ary-Nunez/14712720914
Hey Trinidad,
Yep, it appears to be a recurring bug. Facebook is working on it again, and hopefully soon all will be as it should again!
Hi, I create a fan-gate welcome page using Wildfire free iFrames app version. It looks great… except that it doesn’t show when using a secure FB access (https). I realize that this is partially FB’s limitation, but it’s really strange to support iFrames, allow FB users use https and then NOT showing iFrames. Are there any workaround planned for this? Thank you!
Sorry, I saw someone else having a similar question and you answered it. Thanks!

Is facebook just buggy today? I’ve checked through out the day and sometimes my wildfire app just comes up as blank, even when I’m in non secure http mode. I don’t even get the loading squares
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ary-Nunez/14712720914
I’m experiencing the same thing. Blank landing page that I can’t edit. It was able to be seen, but I changed the page name and then it went blank and won’t go back to its original state.
Sounds like you experienced the temperamental Facebook-wide iFrames bug. Should be fixed now!
Hi
Do i need to know how to write HTML code to use this app? This doesn’t make sense to me as I don’t think most people know HTML.
I’ve loaded images but can’t figure out the rest.
Thanks,
Kimberlee
Hi Kimberlee,
You don’t need to know HTML, but if you do, you can use it! All you need to know how to do is upload a picture, and it sounds like you’ve got the hang of that. Do you have any specific questions?
yes – do i simply write text in there?
– if not, how do i format it with colours etc. I do not know HTML. Also, according to my email, four people have responded to my question, but I can only see your response Maya, on this platform.
If you look at my facebook fanpage – http://www.facebook.com/EssentialBodywork – and look under Welcome, there is only the image I’ve uploaded and I cannot see how to add or format text. Sorry, but not sure it’s working for me.

HTTPS URLs for Page tabs
We recently introduced the ability for users to browse Facebook over HTTPS. At the same time, we began providing a “Secure Canvas URL” field in the Developer App for developers to serve their apps through an HTTPS connection as well. Now that we added support for iframe Page tabs, we also have added a “Secure Tab URL” field. Please take some time to add a “Secure Tab URL” as if you have not, we will not be able to show your tab to users browsing Facebook over HTTPS.
Question: Is this soemthing that I need to do or Wildfire needs to implement? Thanks!
I think this is a fairly new development because if you notice, you can’t view the tabs on nike women, coca cola and red bull.
If you are building your own app, then you need to get a SSL certificate and put your app there, as well.
I think that this means wildfire has to make sure that their app in a secure location for people to view it. Is this correct>
Hey Trinidad,
We’ve configured all our basic, standard, and premium apps this way so that no self service customer need to do anything additional to make their apps work. No need to worry! Thanks for your message!
Hey Mila,
Thanks for your note! You don’t have to worry, or do anything. We have configured all of our basic, standard, and premium apps to be compliant with this new fix. Cheers!

So, can you have 2 instances of these installed?
Hi Dev,
At this time, you can only add one instance of an app to your fan page.
Hope that helps!
I just installed and it seems to work great. The only question I have is…when you have the gate on for fan and unfan…does that second screen just show the first time after they click Like and then for future visits they will go to the Wall or is that Fan Page the one they will see every time they return??
Just trying to figure out if that fan page should be a onetime special as they become new fans or more of a Welcome Back page. Tough to test on myself…sorry!
Thanks!!!!!
Kelly
Kelly!
You’ve totally got it– the most impacting time for this tab will be the first time a user lands on it as a non-fan and converts to a fan. Thereafter fans land on the wall, as they do for all applications. However, the tab will remain there for them to access, so if you put exclusive content there or a coupon code, they will definitely still be able to see it if they click through to the tab. Hope that helps!
Great….thanks for clarifying!!
Hi
The app is great, but am I right in thinking that you are pretty limited by the fact that you can’t have a page built using CSS (or javascript, and certainly not Flash) for either the fans or non-fans? Does this not make the app pretty much academic, as 99.9% of Facebook Page tabs need this?
Thanks
Question about iFrames/Facebook ads. Can a Facebook ad direct the individual who clicks on it to the iFrame page/fan gate? If yes, is it possible to land on the page’s wall if you navigate to the page on your own? How can you do this if it is in fact possible?
Liz,
If you make a Facebook ad, you can definitely direct folks to land on the tab, simply use the tab URL. If people are landing on their own, just make sure its not set as your default landing tab, and they’ll land on your REAL default, which is your wall. Hope that helps!
I have installed and see my page in the Facebook admin area, but when others go to my fan page, the Welcome is blank. What is wrong?
HI,
I have successfully added your iframe app to my page for fan gating. And I wrote some simple HTML to allow users to click from the page that only fan’s see to visit a Facebook application. However, a small facebook icon/logo pops up instead of my application. Then I need to click on the button to go to the app. This is really unprofessional looking and confusing from a user experience. Can you help?
Thanks a ton! Peter
That sounds funky, what’s the link to your fan page? Let’s take a look.
When attempting to create our custom HTML the error message pops up stating we cannot use the img tag. What’s the point of having this app to create a ‘beautifully customizable’ landing page if we can’t even use our own logo?!
Is an application-oriented developers to users.
Those who manage a business does not know PHP, or Java Script.
It’s a shame not to generate tabs add images easily and less interactive as FBML.
Iframes it´s difficult …
A little confused here. This application is called “iframes for pages” yet, when I try to use an iframe, I get a message appearing that says “iframe is not an allowed HTML tag”
I am trying to embed a Flash site where all I am given is the link, no embed code, no .swf file access.
Hello,
I uploaded a custom pic and I can see it on my Welcome tab when I am logged in. I had a friend of mine check and they can see the customized welcome tab as well when they are logged into facebook. But, if I type in my url when I’m not logged into Facebook, it takes people to the blue page shown above in your picture (where it says “The view BEFORE someone likes your page). Can you tell me what is wrong? I want anyone (even non-facebook users) to see that custom Welcome page when they type in my url. http://www.facebook.com/safecandles
Thanks!
Can the gate be locked? We’d love to require a “like” in order for new people to get to our wall.
I am not sure what you mean by basic HTML. What I would like to accomplish is a landing page with 4 images and each go to a different page within my website. I made a 3 row 2 column table, and your app will not accept the colspan or border. If you could explain a little more about how you can use the custom HTML option, that would be great. Unless I am just overthinking this. Thanks!
I want to get rid of the FREE iFrames app. How do I do this? I do not find it listed in the app list where I can delete from my FB page.
I’ve been trying to use the app, but it just brings me to a page to install the app after it”s been installed. I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong.
I removed the app and tried re-installing it, got this message of my fb page
>>We’re sorry, but something went wrong.
We’ve been notified about this issue and we’ll take a look at it shortly.

Doesn’t work very well. Almost all of the custom HTML and CSS I try to use throws an error telling me I can’t us css like “list-style-type” or “no-repeat”. So custom html simply means you can use html but don’t do anything with it.
I advise you learn how to work within FB’s iframe parameters and do it yourself. If you can’t do it yourself or hire someone that can (not an app but someone that does it right), then chances are you are just succumbing to the fad and don’t need a custom FB anything.
After all the errors and pages not loading to finally get it going only to find that I can’t actually customize anything was a let down. The best feature this app has is the ability to upload a custom image which might work for most people caught up in the fad. A custom image is pretty useless to a business however.
I’m rating this app a class A fail.
Hey John– you might find the list of acceptable HTML handy! http://wildfireapp.zendesk.com/entries/20003303-acceptable-html-and-css-for-the-wildfire-iframe-app
Acceptable html and css means there are limits – limits putting together your own iframe app won’t have – it’s pretty useless imo.
No custom images or custom lists or custom anything really. Just basic html. What good is that?
I think thisn is a fantastic development from a 3rd party company to help endure facebook users and the experiences that theyn go through whileusing facebook as a platform – not only is this good for consumers but retailers and businesses alike. I really do see this equally as important to any successful online marketing campaign with the use of SEO, PPC & Social Media – Myk Baxter Marketing are looking foward to working with wildfireapp more closely over the coming months
‘html’ is not an allowed HTML tag
‘head’ is not an allowed HTML tag
‘title’ is not an allowed HTML tag
Those were simple html but they didn’t work. So I placed a photo for the meantime.
I have installed this, however it takes absolutely forever for the image to load, so if you visit our Facebook page it seems like it isn’t working. Any idea how to fix this?
Still does not work. What’s up?
I got emails saying someone answered my post – but I don’t see any answer. What’s up??? Why doesn’t this work. Any luck with the https issue… very disappointing.
I installed the app then deleted it. I’m trying to reinstall it but my fan page isn’t even showing up in the drop down list. (I went back to double check and make sure the app was NOT still installed.) Feedback?
I have installed the iframe app. I have created a custom image to add as my fan-gate but when I try to upload the image I get the following error:
The page you are looking for is temporarily unavailable.
Please try again later.
Can I get some help please?!
Ignore my comment. I restarted my browsers and computer and it’s all good now!
Is it possible to add a hyperlink to another facebook page in the iframe?
Has anyone else had this problem with loading times? I really don’t want to have to uninstall the app, but it looks like there is something wrong with our facebook page
Hi,
great apps !! thanks !
But I have a question about html allowed in your application “iFrames app” :
When I use “Custom HTML”, I have an error when I use the css style …border=”0″….. And I have a blue border on my images with a link :-(
Do you have a solution to solve this problem?
Thank you very much
PS : I’m french, sorry for my English :-)
Clément
Hey Clement! Check out the tutorial we put together of accepted HTML! http://wildfireapp.zendesk.com/entries/20003303-acceptable-html-and-css-for-the-wildfire-iframe-app
Hi Maya,
I have the same problem as Clement with regards the border on Img links.
Problem is Border isn’t an allowed html
Also as style and “type” are not allowed how do you add any CSS if I were to remove Image link borders that way?
BTW I have read the Tutorial of accepted HTML
Thanks so much. This is terrific.
How can I set it up so that when it’s a fan it takes them directly to the wall tab? I imagine there must be some custom HTML that can do that but not sure how to enable it.
I’ve installed the app, but when I click on the like button, I am not taken to my Wall, but to an empty page. Is there something that I need to control in the settings? Here’s where I installed it… http://www.facebook.com/365thingstodoinpasadena

How do you make your default page the Wildfire page?
I dont want my wall to be my default page.
I’ve added the tab sucessfully, tab is showing and I’ve renamed it fine. But how on earth do I add content??? I have a correctly named tab but nothing there. On going to edit page/apps I can see the iframes tab listed. If I go to ‘go to application’ it just wants to add it to a page. If I go to ‘edit settings’ it allows me to rename the tab but nothing else. How and where do I go to add content? What am I missing here??
It’s ok I’ve figured it out!
Ok I got it to work. Have uploaded my pic which shows just fine…..to me! Noone else can see the image. The tab shows up but the page is blank, any ideas?
Is it possible to have more than one iFrame tab using your application … if so then … HOW!???

I’ve installed the app and when I go to change the image of what is shown for non-fans, it doesn’t work. Instead, I just see the blue box that says “thanks for liking our page. we’ll add content to our page soon…”
did I do something wrong?
Hi if you use an upload an image option is there anyway to make the image clickable to a redirected url?
if i use the uploaded image can i make it clickable/mappable to url?
if yes how do i do it?

Hi just trying to load this onto my facebook page ..but get error message ..am I bring dense or is there a current problem?
Hey Mags! For this and any question at all, check out all of our helpful help forums! Go to help.wildfireapp.com.
I’m confused. The App works great for people who don’t currently like my page. http://www.facebook.com/TammySmithPhotographyAK
But it only directs them to the fan page after the initial “like” after that fans land on my wall. I looked at the facebook help pages and they say that the adjustment for default landing only applies to non-fans.
So what is the point of the fan page?
Hi, I disabled my https and still get a “We’re sorry but something went wrong” error when I click on the Welcome Page. Any idea?
Are there plans to support multiple iFrames on a single page in a future paid version? I like free stuff, but our client would be willing to pay for multiple iFrame tabs!
Hello
Where do I go to add content?
Also, I’ve tried to hit the “like” button and there is a message that says error in connection; however my connection was ok.
Thank you! Nice app BTW.
This app appears to be broken. Whenever I try to edit it I’m prompted to install it again.
Hey, hey, what’s the matter w the app?
Both on my FB page and on the app’s page are errors!!

Sunny, its up to you to customize the image. What its displaying now is the default image, which will only change when you upload something new. You can do this by hitting “Edit Settings” while you’re in that tab and make sure you save the picture you’re trying to upload. Hope that helps!

I was wondering about what happens to your existing FBML page when you install this app.
If i wanted to install the wildfire app and have it hidden while I tinkered with the page layout, will my existing FBML page stay public?
And when I want to make the wildfire page public and hide the FBML will, it remain on my page or does Facebook remove it altogether?
Your existing FBML page should not be affected, you just are not able to make any more changes to it going forward since FBML is not the standard anymore. The iFrames app will be installed separately, as a new app, and should not interfere with your FBML app. :)
Hi, we are using this aplication but it takes lot of time in getting this page loaded.
Hey why cant i instal the app ? what is see is this
You do not admin any pages for which this application can be installed
can any body help me please
Hey Patrick,
The app can only be installed on a business fan page. If you have a group or personal page, the app won’t work for it. Do you have one of these types of pages?
Hey Maya
Just now i finished installing app on a personal page and it worked fine.
Awesome, Prashant!
is it possible to add more than one wildfire iframe per page?
Hey Jesse,
At this time, you can only add one instance of an app to your fan page.
How do companies have multiple custom tabs?
Thank you!
Custom tabs are different– each one is custom, and so, its unique. This Wildfire iFrames app is not custom– its a single application which is not recreated each time a user installs it. So it can only exist once. You could always create your own apps, custom, as many as you want and run them without limit on your fan page. But just like you can’t install “Youtube” more than once on your page, you can’t install the iFrames app from Wildfire more than once. I hope that helps to answer your question, Jesse!
Thank you!

My welcome page shows up for people but I can still go to any other page I’ve created without liking the page. How do I fix that?
Need some help. After I installed the iframe app I did just as require and I go to setting and I copy and past some html code from a website well it seems that I can’t do that because it mentions something about tags. Can someone help me with this.
Thanks.
Great, easy to use app. Can you tell me how to add additional, custom pages to facebook? This was easy to do with FBML – thanks, Jennifer

In the case of unique, custom apps, you can add as many as you want! You would have to be creating them, however, and Wildfire’s iFrames app for pages is not a custom app, but our app that is free to use. Hope that helps!
I have been trying to get my Etsy tab or atleast the app back onto my Facebook page and kept getting the error “You do not admin any pages for which this application can be installed” I stumbled upon this wonderful idea and when I tried to add this app it gave me the same error. Please Help!
Hmm. I seem to have a similar problem to what several other people have experienced. I made a simple test with two images – for before and after clicking the like button and went in as a non-admin using a different id.
Initially, I go to my welcome (before) image and when I click on the “like”, I go to the second page that does NOT display my second (after) image, instead displaying the default image Sunny mentioned. When I try to edit the page, all that pops up is a small window asking for a custom tab name. Okay, I fixed it twice by editing the page but it seems to lose my default image. I can do more testing to see if this happens again.
Most importantly, when I reenter the fan page, instead of going to my default page, it goes to my wall. It only defaults to my “welcome” page before I “like” , not after. This is a real problem.
Also, is the code behind this available for download?
Bruce
hi!—how do i get to have this app to be the actual landing page…I already uploaded a picture of my band but everytime I access the page I just got the wall…and not the landing page Im supposed to have with this app
I installed the app and now the wall is inaccesible! Help
I can get this app to work with Issuu. Any suggestions?
It seems ok now, sorry!
How do you uninstall this app if you need to?
Hey Maya I’m trying to install this app (which looks awesome and I’m REALLY excited to try because I know 0 about html lol) but I am trying to install it on a Musician/Band page I manage so when I click to install the app it says
To access this page, you’ll need to switch from using Facebook as your page to using Facebook as yourself.
help!
thanks!
Yup, that’s right! Because you’ll need to grant permissions to access your account for any app to run, you have to do it as yourself logged in as “Zack” instead of yourself logged in as “MY BAND NAME.” Simply go to “Account” in the top right, and switch back to using Facebook as yourself. Good luck Zack!
thank you…it worked…1 more question, what are the dimensions o the scroll box the landing image is in?…so i can get an image made that fits perfectly and people don’t have to scroll up and down, left and right to see the whole thing.
thank you!
520 across! :)
thank you! :)
I’m seeing scrollbars, even when I reduce the image to 500x500px – and I ssee scrollbars in the examples posted above too (Everly Media and Dorm Room Movers). Hopw can I get rid of them with sthe simple html? I’ve tried:
FANS
NON-FANS
OK, my code wouldn’t transcribe in the box (makes sense) but what I was using was div tags.

NON-FANS

Hi Maya. I’m still waiting for an answer.
When I select “like”, I go to my second page – which is good. However, when I reenter the fan page after liking the page, instead of going to my default page, it goes to my wall. It only defaults to my “welcome” page before I “like” , not after.
Why is that? I always want to go to my default page – either pre- or post- like.
Thanks,
Bruce
Hey Bruce!
Fair question: visiting CURRENT fans drop to the wall. This is true for all Facebook Fan Pages, no matter what. That’s what the wall was built for, the fan community to interact, right?
The new view for NEW fans who convert right when they see your page is flashed to them WHEN they convert, like a reward (if you use it that way.) Forever after, however, they’d have to click on the tab to see it, because they’d be landing on the wall. This is the way Facebook has fan pages set up.
Hope that helps!
Thanks Maya!
That helps a lot. (I don’t necessarily agree with Facebook on this but they didn’t ask me.) Thanks.
Your answer leads to another question, though. (Sorry.)
When Facebook was still in the fbml world, I could set a default fbml page – which it always went to. Is it possible to set an iframe as the default page regardless of whether people “like” the page? In this case, we could just present them with two – or more – options (with outside links). Or, is this impossible as it is now designed? i.e. Once you like the fan page, are you automatically directed to the wall with no options or recourse?
Bruce
How long does it normally take for a custom image to load? I’ve tried loading mine, but it keeps going back to the original blue page.

On two of the pages I manage I’m using both fan and non-fan pages.
My boss has noticed that he can’t use the “back” button on his browser on those pages. (Louisa Harding Yarns and Mirasol Yarns) He gets stuck on the landing page.
Sounds like this problem started last week but I only just found out.
Any suggestions about what is happening?

Reading your “terms of service” for the app, it appears that it says you will be putting third-party links and/or advertising on my fan page?
Also, I keep reading here that the app is currently free and will remain so for those that install it before it costs… but am I understanding correctly that you are hosting content uploaded for use by this app and then if so… will there be a charge in the future for that hosting?
Hi Allen,
You will not need to pay for any instance of the iFrames app you’re using now, even in the future. Its if you sign up to start using it in the future, after costs have been prescribed, that it would not be free then. :)
I installed the iframes app on FB. I got a nice image. How do I add text? Can I use a slideshow instead of an image? If so, how?
Thanks
Mardi, You have to add text inside your image– the image itself has to be the finished product.
By mistake I hit the little x on the lower right of the Wildfire iFrames “welcome” app tab on my clients Facebook businesss page and it has disappeared – what to I have to do to get the tab visible again?

Is the server having issues today and if so are the issues permanent or being resolved? I have the app installed on two facebook pages and they are both being hit with 404s for the welcome/fangate page. This is frustrating as I have the welcome tab set as the default landing tab and so this error (which is happening about two thirds of checks today) gives a poor impression to visitors (and I just did a massive invite for new users to both pages as cross promotion). My page with a different iframe/fangate app is working fine (but I prefer to use wildfire for ease of use).
It worked fine before today.
Hi Brian, no issues. You’re likely using Facebook “as your page” versus as yourself. If this is the case, you aren’t able to grant the permissions Facebook needs a *person* to grant to run apps. That’s why you hit this error. Make sure you go under “Account” and switch back to using Facebook as Brian, and that way everything will work fine. Hope that helps!
No, that’s not the issue I am seeing. The app installed fine initially. It’s just that we’re seeing a lot of network errors to the wildfire server that we did not see before. Everything was working fine before so it’s not an issue of misconfiguration.
Its Mind blowing..! I have been looking for it since long and finally found it. Steps are very easy follow and I am very happy to have a nice welcome screen for my page.
I’ve seen this in use on many pages and like it! Now it’s a matter of getting it to work for my page. I’m curious to know and understand how how create the exclusive info that the Fan Gate “hides” to non-Fans. I believe I’ve successfully created the Fan Gate itself (simply uploading an image) but I’m not sure how to input/edit what I want revealed once someone Likes the page.
Thanks!
c.
Make sure you have selected the fan gate “ON”– then it will give you the option to upload a second photo. :)
Thanks Maya.
Fan Gate ‘On’
There is a custom image for Fan View and a custom image for the Non-Fan view.
From my understanding the Non-Fans will see the image that is uploaded to the Non-Fan view yeah? Once they LIKE it, what will they see? The Fan View image?
Thanks!

Allan– the second one! You can’t see the second version of the Welcome page (so put something good there!) Everything else is still viewable. :)
I have installed the app and all looks good and working well. The only think I can’t get to work is for the default landing page to land on the app. I have selected it to do so in the Manage Permissions section of FB but it doesn’t seem to want to land anywhere other than the Wall. Any info would help. Thanks
Eric, landing on the wall is the default for all fans, and you’re a fan since you’re the admin. Try logging out of Facebook and going to your fan page– you’ll see that you land on your Welcome page. :)
I cant seem to make a Facebook page I have created Land and yet I have created an image, it lands on the wall of the group. :( Possible you recommend a solution? Thanks

Hi, Im Using ur App but doesn´t work right on my facebook page, if u are not fan should be the landing page as a first page but in my page you see as a landing the wall page, how can i fix that¿?
Hi Leonel, since you’re an admin, you’re a fan (no matter what) so you can’t see it in default landing mode. Try logging out and then going to your fan page. You will see it working properly. :)
Is there any way to let fans just proceed to the wall after they have “liked” the page? I don’t really want to slow them down with yet another image.
I hid a Wildfire app, where a developer (who is no longer with us) had created, due to it not being relevant on our page for a while.

Hey Izzie! If you go to “Edit Page” and go to Apps, and then the app, “App Settings” should enable you to turn it back on.

Maya, help!!
I’ve tried this app on two different fan pages and it’s not working.
I’ve installed the app.
I click “edit page”
I click “apps”
click “edit settings” for Wildfire’s iframes
it comes up with custom tab name (default “Welcome”)
I click save and okay
Then I click “view page” and click on “welcome”
it says “We’re sorry, but something went wrong.”
One fan page is published. One fan page is not published yet. I have the same problem for both.
Help!

Hi James!
2 things: make sure you’re using Facebook as yourself and not “as page.” Make sure of this by going to your Account Settings.
Other thing: link to your pages, lets’ have a look see.

I forgot to hit “reply” on my response, Maya.
Were you able to figure out what’s wrong?
Maya,
My email says people are responding to my comments here, but when I click on the link to view what was said, I don’t see anything knew on this page.
Help! I really need to get the fan gate up on my pages soon.

What’s going on?
Hi Gabriela,
Sorry for that! Seems we had some short, unexpected downtime. We’re back up now and everything should be normal! Thanks so much for your patience. With best regards,

Thanks Maya!
A quick question. Is it possible to link from the image somewhere? It would be great to be able to link from the image to the wall on my page.
If you can write this in your HTML, it will work! :)
Thank you for this app! I added it to my page, and uploaded the necessary images. The only problem is that visitors don’t see the welcome page first. How do I make this happen?

Having the same problem. Were you able to find a fix?
Hi,
i installed the app and it seemed to be working… i uploaded a couple of photos, and felt relieved that it was going to work for my facebook fan page… so i closed the browser and disconnected the internet to take a break for a bit… when i went back to my fan page, i could not figure out any way to get back in to the app and continue using it… i have read several of the same issues from the questions above…. i see the Wildfire logo in the list of Apps, but when i click on it, it goes to their facebook app page, and the same thing happens when i click on the link underneath that says “Go to App” … and the other two links do not get me to the app — they stop at the “Welcome” box in the “Edit Settings” link, and the “Link to this Tab” just brings up an address box to click “Okay” —
how can i get back in to using the Wildfire app i already installed ?
Hi Matthew,
All you have to do is visit the tab on your page, simply click on it while you’re logged in, within the left panel of links. Hope that helps!
Hi I don’t think my app is working properly. In lieu of creating a custom image or HTML just yet, I would like to use the default image with the arrow pointing to the ‘like’ button (I think it looks nice)…
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Simple-Method/163606043694747 is our facebook page url, as you can see no image, but rather our activity is visible.
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Simple-Method/163606043694747?sk=app_201143516562748 is the ‘preview’ url and shows the image as it should appear. How do I make this image active? It says my fan gate is ‘on’ in the settings. Thanks so much. :)
Best Regards,
Drew
Oh I think I figured it out… I needed to make the landing page ‘Welcome’ upon editing the page. Sound good? Thanks let me know if I’ve missed anything important!

That’s great news, Drew! Happy to hear it.
I am also getting the “we’re sorry but something went wrong” error. Are you planning on fixing this? What’s happening? Please let me know!
After installing iFrame and create the welcome page. How do I make this appear at the beginning? When people log into my Facebook page.
Hi Jorge! You need to change your default landing page settings, where you go to “Edit Page” and Manage permissions. That’s where you can find it! :D

Hi All,
I’ve tried the Wildfire iFrame to wrap my web store. It’s neat.
Hitlab sells songs for 99 cents like iTunes – you can use PayPal or a Credit Card. When you but a song from FB on itunes – they don’t use FB credits. We don’t want to either.
My question is around the FB credits requirement. Since its not in an APP, am I going to have issues with that?
Hi Drew! To be honest, I am not sure what the requirements or restrictions would be for Facebook credits on your app…you may need to research more on the developers forums to find that.
great i will try it…………..
I would love to use this, but I just noticed this post was made back in March, and I think I heard it was only free for 3 months after this post was made? Since it’s July this is probably a stupid question, but–did Wildfire extend the offer? I didn’t see anything about pricing, and I would like to know before I install it…..Thanks! :)
Hey Lindsey!
Still free! :D
Its so popular we decided to extend the offer. Once it stops being free (and I am not sure of the timeframe for that) you can bet we’d update the blog with that info. Thanks for reaching out and asking! :D
I was wondering is this app free?
Hey Carmen, it sure is! (For the time being, but if you install now, you won’t ever need to worry about paying for the tab you’re creating.) :D
Hey Maya,
I’ve created a landing page, uploaded the picture, and set the “Welcome” tab as the default for the page, but it doesn’t seem to be working. It shows that the photo uploaded and I’ve checked the settings under both my page and the wildfire app. Any ideas? Everything seems to be set to the right dimensions, but it’s not showing up when non-users access my page.
Thanks!
Bryn
Hi Bryn,
Have you made it your default, though? You can do this by going to “Edit Page” then “Manage Permissions” and then choose the default tab. :)
Hi Wildfire,
Thanks for this tool.
Could the second reveal page default to an existing tab, or does the HTML allowed only allow an image to be displayed?
Thanks,
Chrisna
Chrisna,
You can have a big redirecting button, but no, it won’t automatically default to another tab. Hope that helps!

PJ, make sure you’re using Facebook as yourself (Peter) and not as the client page. You can double check this in “Account Settings”, up on the top right of your Facebook.

Seems to work great, though I haven’t tried HTML code, thanks!
Hi,
Thanks for this great app on facebook free of cost. we appreciated your work.
Kindly tell us how to make the Welcome tab default ? so every visitor click on the page name so he/she see the default tab of wildfire app not for Facebook wall.
Thanks
Hi Guys! You need to make this the default in your “Manage Permissions” tab within “Edit Page.”
is there a feature to change the icon on the tab? thanks
Hi Holly! You cannot change the icon used with an app you install, only with a custom app you develop yourself.
I installed the app and its doing the basic “gating” function, EXCEPT – it doesn’t block a non-fan from clicking and navigating away to the wall or any other page listed on the left…am I missing something?
I have recently applied the fan gate app to our websites facebook page. When non fans land on the site they see the non fan welcome asking them to click ‘like’ and become fans. So far so good.
However when non fans land on the welcome page they can go to the other pages, ie wall, pictures etc without pushing ‘like’ and becoming a fan.
Am i mistaken in thinking the purpose of the fan gate was to prevent none fans from viewing the facebook profile, or am I applying the gate incorrectly?
This app is brilliant.
We are using it for our schools student life page and as such we have to make sure our students see a page policy before entering.
Do you think its possible to setup a way to show fans the wall and non-fans the gate?
All fans will end up seeing the wall whenever they log in in the future anyway, Opher, this is the default way the process flows in Facebook.
I just installed the app. Is it still free cause I got no payment information or anything like that.
plz help
Hey Bernd, Yep, its free! :)
thank you very much. good to know :)
What do I have to do so people that haven’t like my page can only see the welcome sign? Any ideas?
You have to change the Default Landing Page to the Welcome tab. Do this in the “Manage Settings” part of your Facebook page while you’re editing.
I’ve done that, but people that haven’t liked my page can still my wall posts and everything. If they don’t like my page I want them to only see the welcome page and once they like it they can see everything :) How do I do that?
Same question here :-)
Is there a way to dictate the page that the user is redirected to after clicking “like”? Right now, it appears to go to “Welcome” but I need to go direct elsewhere. http://help.wildfireapp.com/entries/20308938-iframe-fan-gate-and-linking-to-promotion shows me how to have the image link, but not how to dictate the redirect.
Thanks so much!
There is no way to create a re-direct, Kate, but you can create a nice big button, that when clicked, takes users to your other page.
Hi There,
If non-fans like my business page they are not redirected to the ‘fan-page’. Instead, they are redirected to the wall of the page.
Is this an error or am I doing something wrong here. I’ve tried other fan-gates on other fanpages but they all have the same problem.
Hi Tom!
Actually, you’ve stumbled upon a live Facebook bug. They’re currently investigating into getting it to revert people to the second version of the landing tab (instead of the wall, which is what its doing now) so most likely a fix is forthcoming soon.
Hi Maya,
Thanks for your answer. I have one more question. Is it possible to hide entire tabs for non-fans such as ‘online store’ tab?
What about embedding code for slideshows from photoshelter website?
no tutorials or help.
Please let us know how to.
Thank’s alot
Piero
Hi Piero, Unfortunately, the free app will not render all code, only simple HTML. It will not render embed code, so this is probably not the app you want to use for a slideshow, but for a really neat landing page.
Ok, that’s what I thought too.
Well I’ll try to make a simple but nice LP.
Thank you
ciao
Piero
Can i create slideshow at my landing fan page?
How come when i go to my facebook pages url, the landing page is not welcome page but is wall page ?
Hi Cathy, this is because you are an admin. You will always see the wall first. Try logging out of Facebook and going to your fan page: should be the default now. Thanks!

Hi,
Can I have multiple pages from this one app? I need a welcome page, but I wanted to create another page for “products.” Please let me know!
Thanks,

Hi Macy!
At this time, you can only add one instance of this free app to your fan page. If you’d like to create many pages, you certainly can with our Page Manager product, which is a part of our social suite. You can learn all about the suite here: http://www.wildfireapp.com/suite
How do I fix my settings so that the tab still appears as the default landing page before I like it and after I like it? When I was testing it out earlier it was working perfectly fine. Not sure what happened. Here is a link: http://www.facebook.com/CIRCAJewels?sk=app_201143516562748
Hi guys
Ive got a question about the installation of the Wildfire app. The problem is, I cant install it. When I go to the facebook page of the app everything goes fine. I can click on Go to app but when I get the screen with ‘Install app’ (where the follow-url is http://bit.ly/ifKxib) and click on it, I get a blank screen, completely blank. When I go back to the fanpage after the blank page, it’s not installed as I expected. I have no idea if Im doing something wrong or that there is some kind of bug. The URL of the blank page is: ‘https://www.facebook.com/dialog/oauth?client_id=201143516562748&redirect_uri=http://iframes.wildfireapp.com/iframes_app/post_oauth_redirect?source=canvas'.
Does someone have a solution for this problem? I really need this app to work. Thanks.
Hey JB, You you should check out the help resources at help.wildfireapp.com for all their tutorials and guides about iframes. You can also submit your specific question, and someone will be able to troubleshoot it with you to investigate further.
I found out what the problem was. It was just the browser that prevented me from installing the application. Apparently Mozilla Firefox is unable to do that so I had to do it in Internet explorer. Anyway thanks for your time!
I can’t find my welcome page, and I cannot see where to add an app. Am I doing something wrong??
hmmm got this cause it said it was an iframe page deal but when i go to embed a youtube video it says it cant do iframes! WTH is up with that?
Hi Mike,
The free app won’t be able to embed html, this is not part of its function. It was purposed to allow folks to create really simple but elegant landing pages, and as such was created with limited HTML rendering capacity. To get an app to do more complex things such as embed media, you might consider creating a custom app of your own. Sorry about that!
Awesome app. I will surely try this. Thanks for share.
I added my URL and instead of showing my image…it shows my URL. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Jennifer
Am manage to created my welcome page as my landing page BUT how come it still saying that “This page is under contruction” ?
My “Welcome Page’ keep saying “This Page is Under cContruction”. What should i do?
Hi Cathy,
You have not saved an image yet. Click on “Edit Settings” when you’re looking at that view of the tab, and make sure to hit “Save” after you upload your image.
Hope that helps!
I have save it. Please advise.
Thks.
Can I add more than one tab per fan page?
Hi Rob, At this time, you can only add one instance of this free app to your fan page. You can run it on as many fan pages as you want, but just one on each. The notable exception was FBML, but that was because each time you developed a new FBML page, the code made the application unique each time. With all other apps, you can only add one instance.
We do have a solution for creating as many pages as you want, however you want, called Page Manager. Page Manager is not free, however, and is part of a monthly subscription to our Suite of products which include a messenger and advanced analytics. If you’d like to learn more about these products, check out http://www.wildfireapp.com/suite
Plain and simply, how do I add a “like” button to be right next to the title of my facebook page? I think all the tutorials are explaining how to add the like button onto one’s other websites and blogs besides facebook. pls advise, thanks.
Tom, the “Like” button is included with your Fan Page in all cases. You don’t see it simply because you’re the admin, so you already like it. For those people who haven’t liked it yet, they all see the “Like” button in there. :)
IS THIS A ‘DUMMY’ GATE?? I installed in on an artist page, looks good… but as a ‘non-fan’ even if you land on the picture where you’re asked to like the page, you can still click on any tab and access content. Why doesn’t this ‘gate’ block access to other content, which is one of the key features of a fan gate?? If it’s supposed to do that please tell me how to set that up.
PSUEDO GATE, wildfire say themselves elsewhere. It DOES NOT have ‘fan-gate’ functionality, that is a white-label priced product. Shame they don’t say it out loud here.
Adam, this is a 100% real gate. :) You can’t see the other side of it unless you become a fan.
Adam, its not supposed to do that. There is no app on Facebook that will– Facebook Business Pages are inherently public, and that is the way Facebook wants to keep them. The only thing you can gate are apps you install yourself, so you can gate the Welcome page and other apps you install, but not native apps (like Photos, Wall, Info.) Hope that helps!
Hi Maya
Respect for answering all these questions. Im sure a lot of us are repeating each other :)
In fear of doing so, could you please elaborate on the question posed by Adam. I am experiencing the same thing; visitors have access to my wall regardless of whetler the ‘Like’ my page or not.
My Fan page is listed as a ‘goverment organisation’. So how to you set it up so that visitors will need to like you to see your content?
Thanks Thomas!

Thomas, thanks! There is no way to do what you’re asking. Business pages on Facebook, no matter what type of page they are, are public by default. You cannot hide ANY of your native apps, including your wall, your photos, your information, and no app will do this for you. You can fan gate other apps you’ve created or installed, but you’re effectively only gating the content on THAT tab. If you’re looking for more security options, where not everyone can “get in”, you’ll need to consider starting a “Group” instead of a page.

I might be confused, but up to recently when I installed the app and uploaded an image… and someone would search my fan page and click on it for the first time, the image I designed (with a LIKE US arrow) would immediately appear.
Now, anytime someone comes to my page for the first time, the wildfire image of “LIKE US” comes up, and THEN my design.
How can I make it show my WELCOME image from the beggining? and NOT the wildfire image?

Hi, I would just like my fans to get directed to the wall directly, not to a specific welcome page. All my non fans should be directed to the welcome page. I can’t see how to make this work. Either they both go to the same welcome or they both go to a different welcome page.
Hi Sarah, this is what automatically happens when you install a Welcome page and name it as your DEFAULT. New visitors land on it. Current fans go straight to the wall.
Hi Maya! Thanks…did not understand that previously. One more question. New fans see the welcome page, click like and then nothing happens??? Should these new fans after ‘liking’ not be automatically transferred to the wall instead? There is defiantly a bug in relation to the page not showing up to firefox users (logged in or not).
Are you planning on fixing this?
If this is ignored, then this is just a bad solution as a large percentage of my page fan base are firefox users.
I’ve tested on several versions of firefox, including the most recent version (7.0.1)
Hi Dario! Facebook keeps track of reported bugs like the one you’re mentioning and attends to all of them. Most likely, the Firefox issue you mention will be fixed soon!
Hi
I have used this for a friends page and it’s great appart from the fan gate element which is actually why I chose it. I am probably doing something incorrect but even if someone has not “liked” the page they can still go through to the wall and photos ect. I really need to get people to LIKE the page before having access to the page in full.

Hi Henry,
No, this is not possible. You can only fan gate non-native apps, and only on an app by app basis. You cannot fan gate native apps like the Wall, Photos, Info (Facebook built apps.) All other apps can be, but if they’re not built that way, this is not a feature you can add on. Wildfire’s fan gate application allows you to install an application that has the fan gate functionality built in– that way you can gate THAT TAB. This is why setting this tab as the default to land on is key: this messaging, the “become a fan to…” is the best chance you have at conveying the “Why should I become a fan” immediately and clearly to brand new visitors. Hope that helps!
Hi guys…
Maybe it’s just me who’s confused after reading all comments, but I sit here with an unsolved problem.
I’ve installed everything correctly and non-fans get my customized pictures as they are supposed to, but they (non-fans) can still choose albums and wall etc.
Isn’t possible to hide everything else than the welcome picture until you are a fan?
I hope it makes sense?
Best,
Søren

Hi Majda!
These new fans should see the 2nd version of the page, so you can install a new image there (for fans only.) Maybe its a 20% off coupon, or some exclusive content…this is why you’ve tried to convince them to become fans in the first place, usually to “get” something upon the reveal of the second page. They will not be automatically taken to the wall.
Hope that helps!

I am using this app to have a fangate with an image larger then the 520 default space I have been provided by facebook, and it works to show the entire image using the scrollbars and will force a user to scroll to the left to see the center of the image. Is there a way I can code Iframe to start the scrolling at the middle of the image so the user can scroll left or right if they wanted to ?
You still offer this app for free but your copy says the fan gate was good for only 3 months. It is now November. Is this offer still good? I did try to put it on my FB page, but couldn’t get anything to work.
m juz looking 4 app like wat “Wildfire” is offering, as much simple as it could b, well for me i just design myself the image dat appears on welcome tab, n rest “Wildfire” did for me……..amazing just upload image after installing app n it will ask u for image or url, upto u then….m really thankful to the team of Wildfire……..
You’re welcome Cheema!
Hi Maya,
I’ve read through the Q&A’s & still I am baffled.
I’m trying to install iFrames logged in as Shane Shepherd for Shane Shepherd Photography and it keeps giving me only 2 options for his other linked pages. Why doesn’t Shane Shepherd Phototgraphy show so I can install it to this page?
Thanks,
Dee
I have recently run a photo contest for my facebook page and people are encourage to vote. The picture with most “Likes” will win the contest. After that, I found out that people who “Like” the photos did not necessary need to like my page. This totally defeat the purpose because I run this contest to get more fans.
Can Wildfire apps help me to solve this? Also, I already have pictures posted there. If I were to download Wildfire, can I transfer those pictures over and will the number of “Like” remain the same for the contestants?
Keagan
Hey Keegan! You can definitely run a contest where in order to enter, the user NEEDS to like your page (not just the photo.) This feature is only available with a “white label” campaign package. To learn more about what’s available in a white label, give us a call, we’re always happy to chat with you! 888-274-0929. Cheers!

How can I uninstall the app? I didn’t create the welcome page but i clicked to get the app and now they have access to my account and i don’t want that, so how can I uninstall at all?
Is this app completely free?
Yes Patty!
I have been using this gate for some time now. But when my fans arrive at the gate a messege is displayed that the “content is unsecure and would you like to display ONLY the secure content “yes” or all of the content including the unsecure “no” “. This is causing lots of my fans to miss the gate, since to see the messege you would actually have to click no. Any hints anyone?
Thank you. This is a apps l look for long time.
Useful and easily install.
Like it so much.
I have been having a problem, when my fans arrive at the gate a messege is displayed that the “content is unsecure and would you like to display ONLY the secure content “yes” or all of the content including the unsecure “no” “. Hello
Trying to install your app

Hi, the HTML thing is not working for Chrome. Is it just me or is it the same with yours guys?
Is there anyway to track ‘insights’ / traffic on the page powered by wildfire?
I would like to see how many facebook users click on this page or interact, or even better, click on specific links. Is this possible to see?
Hi Alex! Not with the free version, no. You can use bit.ly links you generate yourself, however, to see how many people are clicking, and within Facebook insights you can also see visits per tab, so its all covered!
My fans don’t see de landing page.
I asked a friend to “dislike” the facebook page in wich I installed the app and then become fan again.
Meanwhile he wasn’t fan he saw NON-fans version landing, but when he became fan again he saw the wall instead of FANS vesrion landing configured in the settings of the app.
What can I do?
Yeah my friend did and said the same thing. Apparently this issue has been happening for awhile since it is now the 12th. Did Wildfire support assist? What did they advise because I am still having the problem..
I haven’t recived any answer yet. :(
I installed the app, put in my images, clicked fan gate on, but when a fan comes through they first go to my wall, how do i change this?
I have the same problem. This app is not very reliable and the wildfire team is blaming fb. Not sure how to get these changes resolved.
I need help… i made the flyer but when ppl go to my business they just see the wall.. and when they click “like” they still just see the wall. They have to click on the Welcome icon to see the flyer i made thanking them for liking us and offering a discount code. please help me, thanks!
having the same problem here!!!
I have uplaoded the app, and went through the steps of uploading pics but it will not let me save my content. I will push the save button but nothing happens then when I go to look at it on my page it still has the content coming soon sign up. I have tried atleast 6 times already each time I have had to re-upload my content. Any body else having this issue?
Hi there –
I just downloaded the iframe app for my Facebook page – it’s installed, but there says there is a problem . . . can you help with this?
Thanks,
Jared
I ended up un-installing this app because it never worked properly and the wildfire ppl were unable to fix it. I think there is a bug in it that is not allowing new users to use it. Other fanpages that have this app are working on facebook just fine but in speaking to people on this blog, it seems to be a common theme that new users are not able to get it to work properly
I added wildfire iframe. So created a welcome tab and it functions well. How can i create another tab ? shoudl i install the app again or is their is a method to have anotehr tab .. actually i need to have 2 more tabs
Actually, I need more tabs as well. Do you know the answer to your question yet? Thanks in advace. Ana
I’m a newbie and struggling at present. I’ve installed the app and still labelled as “welcome”. I have uploaded an image “special offers”. I have created a rewards page to link with the special offers. However,
How do I get visitors to “like” the page and secondly, how do I link my rewards page to the welcome “special offers” page.
Tony
I installed the app for a client, the page: facebook.com / nfservice, was working perfectly when the person was not a fan, an image appeared, and then when she clicked on tan, entered the second image … Now a few days ago, it stopped happening after clicking … enjoy …. Wall fell and now the customer wants as it was before ….. other pages that install, operate with two images, can help me ?? (I’m sorry for the english, I’m using a translator)
Brilliant :) I have read bad things about iframes and indeed encouraged not to us them but over the last couple of years i have seen some effective uses of them first my universities intranet and now the social apps like wildfire and many more. Very easy to use and solves a current problem like all new products should :) I have never used iframes personally when building something myself at Signori Web Solutions but will certainly be using some of these free fantastic apps.
Hi, I tried to find out if this app is still for free – january 4th. If anyone knows…?!
Thanks.
hello Friends
I have a problem with wildfire iframe application. My landing page working fine but it shows vertical scroll bar when i click on it..
So Pls tell me How to remove scroll bar.
Thanks in advance
I created a custom landing page, but it looks really small. what is max size the file can be?
Doesn’t work for me. Wild Fire app loaded okay but it has a blue screen saying “Thanks for liking our page. Well add content to this page soon”. I did a test run on another page and it works on that one but not this one. I tried removing the app to start again but it does not work.
It seems like FB dont accept landingspages for community pages.
they may work for companies.
I think it’s working well in everything BUT I.E. 8 !! supposedly ie8 is supported, but my client can’t see the images in ie8. I am tryign to replicate with higher security/privacy settings, but no luck. anyone have ie8, willing to try the link and see if the “free C-slide” option shows up for you?
gracias por todo
Great, simple app… although I’m seeing in I.E 8 (or rather NOT seeing in IE 8) that the images still cause the JavaScript warning about “https content…” and once the okay is selected to show the supposed secure content , the image still does not appear – only the icon placeholder (not a broken image, but a whole image icon).
That may not make sense – I do see it in IE9, and Firefox… but my client is using IE8 for other reasons of compatibility… and the images don’t seem to be there.
Anyone experienced this? Would love to know if it’s security settings perhaps? Privacy settings? Other user-specific settings that can be changed???
hey there. Can somebody help me, please? I made my own image 520pix. width, I choose it from Choose file button and when i click “save and preview” it returns to “thanks for liking our page. We’ll ad content to this page soon..” It doesnt show my custom picture i try to upload, why so?
I’m having the same problem – I load my image and it only says “We’ll add content to the page soon”…. but it hasn’t!
Hi,
I love this app! I have 2 pages I am using it on.
One problem though is that on one of my pages I can add the Welcome TAB as the default page and on my other page it doesnt have the option to do so when I go to edit.
Can anyone tell me why??
Is it that they are 2 different types of pages?
One is a business and the other a community page
Thanks
Hey Sarah,
Sounds like you answered your own question. :) If community pages don’t have a default, there is no way you can set the page to be it. Cheers!
Hi Maya,
I guess I did, but do you know what pages it works on and which ones it doesnt? If you do it would make it easier for me to change the type of page it is
Thanks

Hi !
just installed the app on my fan-page ! works great…but, is it possible to change the tab icon ?
Thank’s
Ah guess I was a little too late! I have been looking for this application for a while but they’re all paid.
This is a great way to gain fans, but i recently discovered another source of facebook fans – yourfbooklikes.com
This is a free ‘Like’ exchange system – I advise you check it out!

hi,
so, love the simplicity of the app, but i’m having one problem that I can’t figure out. I have set up a fan gate, so fans and non-fans see different images. Then, I set the Welcome (wildfire) tab as the page’s default. For non-fans, this works fine, but when a fan visits my page, they are brought to the page’s Wall, not the Welcome tab.
Is there a way to have the Welcome tab display as the default to fans?
Noticed this in looking for answers to my IE8 prob. I think the default page is something set within your Facebook itself. I always have trouble finding the setting, but I think if you go to your account, and can look at settings of the overall piece- there is a default/welcome page in which you choose the Wall or other page.
yes, there is. i have set the welcome page as the default page, and it works if you are not a fan. but fan’s seem to always be brought to the wall, which renders the fan gate useless for my purposes.
Wow! this is very cool and simple
thanks
How can I get this to show up on mobile devices?
Ben I believe that’s exactly the purpose of the fangate app. To help you get more fans by ensuring they ‘like’ your page first. There wouldn’t be much of a point if you were to make your existing fans go through the process all over again as they can’t ‘re-like’ a page.
well i’m using the fangate as a welcome/landing page, so I’d like both fans and not fans to be brought to the wildfire tab. the message differs a little bit for fans and non-fans, however.
Hi! I’d like to know if it’s possible to remove the “powered by Wildfire” sign. Perhaps by paying a premium fee?
Yep, exactly right! Give us a call at 888-274-0929 to learn more about that.
Is there any way to add an email field that is required before you like
as in “enter your email to like”?
Thanks;
Rhonda
Hi Rhonda,
That capability is not available in the free version, but absolutely possible in the Wildfire suite of products. You can always give us a call to learn more about them here: 888-274-0929.
What HTML tag can be used with the iframe app, to make links on an image white? It will not accept the html tag. Now my image has these blue hyperlinks color around it.
Thank you
Hello,
What code can i use with the iframe app, so that the blue hyperlink borders appear white? The html tag is not supported.
Thank you
Hi there-
This app is great but it doesn’t actually function as a “gate” so to speak just creates different landing tab for fans vs. non-fans. Is there a way or another app to set it up so non-fans can’t visit the wall or see photos on the page until they “like” the page? Non-fans can still view the content on my page even if they don’t “like” the page as long as they click on the “wall” tab etc.
HI Becca! There is no such feature on Facebook– all the native apps (like “Wall”, “Photos” etc) are not gate-able, ever.
Thanks for your quick reply – was starting to figure that out today haha. :) tahanks again!
Can you remove the “powered by wildfire” part? I’d also like to be able to customize the icon on the tab too.
The free version of the app is branded Wildfire. If you’d like to customize the branding, you can definitely look into purchasing custom promotions, or a subscription to our social media suite. Thanks!
Hey, is anyone’s gate being pushed further down on the page now? It was at the very top and now it seems to be centered on the page and most of the time out of the frame…
That was a Facebook wide bug you saw yesterday. Should be all cleared up now.
Hi! We’ve been using this app for a while now and we think it’s great. We’ve installed it on several pages we run for local businesses and have never had a problem with it…. until now.
I’ve just tried setting up the gate for a new client and everything is working as it should be EXCEPT that the images are displaying right down at the bottom of the page with a huge blank white space above. So when the page opens there is nothing until you scroll right down to the bottom.
Would LOVE any suggestions on how to fix this – https://www.facebook.com/work.training?sk=app_201143516562748
Thanks in advance
Hi Zane,
That was a Facebook wide bug you saw yesterday. Should be all cleared up now.
It is – sweet relief!
Thanks Maya, love your work!
I really like the wildfire app but is it possible to make more then 1 tab I would like to have ore then 1 tab for other pages.
Thanks

I have installed the Wildfire iFrame app and have uploaded a photo but no matter how much I shrink it, it still remains ridiculously huge on my facebook page. Anyone know how I would change this please? Thanks, Karen
I had the same problem! Still waiting for a response. Have you tried again? I uninstalled mine and tried installing it again now but it keeps saying it’s already installed but does not appear on my page?!
Am I right in thinking this is no longer free and is now a paid app?
Hey Kevin! Still free. Awesome news, right?
When I upload my image. It’s way to big. I tried making it smaller but once uploaded it’s still to big. Help!
I have a problem with my permissions
I simple says people can post/ add photos etc.
It should be Users or something like that .
Because anyone can post on my page without liking it and I don’t see a way to restrict access to spammers .
Any app for that ?
How do i get rid of the scroll bar on the bottom and right side of my Welcome Image. Id like the image to just run thru without having to use the scroll bars to have a full look at the image. My image is only 540 x 540 as suggested. pls help
i think the correct width is 520 px
I want to block non-fans from my page until they like the page. How do I do this?
I followed all these steps and viewed the page while not signed in, and the welcome page works fine, but I can still view my wall and other tabs without liking the page.
I’m having the same problem :( did you fine anyway around it yet?
Brilliant :) I have read bad things about iframes and indeed encouraged not to use them but over the last couple of years i have seen some effective uses of them first my universities intranet and now the social apps like wildfire and many more. I have used this app in relation to my new driving lessons business, i am new to web things and helpful things like this make it easier for me to have a professional looking business :)
Now that Facebook has switched to timeline for businesses, I guess this no longer works, correct?
Hi there, these pages still work the way you’re used to them working (as custom pages) but they will not be landing pages with Timelines. There is no more landing pages feature anymore, the only landing experience is the Timeline, for all users across Facebook visiting brands.
Switched over to the new timeline view for our company. Looks like we can’t select a landing page or have a fanpage gateway. Any information on this?
Hi Wildfire! Today, I switched to the new FB chronicles. I wonder: How am I able to welcome new readers now? The landing page disappeared. I look forward to reading from you. Cheers, Nico Lindner, Editor
I worked perfectly…….until facebook updated my page into timeline…now I can’t get the iframe to work, just have the welcome tab…=(
Are you guys working on incorporating custom landing pages for the new facebook pages timeline?
Hi Faisal, these pages still work the way you’re used to them working (as custom pages) but they will not be landing pages with Timelines. There is no more landing pages feature anymore, the only landing experience is the Timeline, for all users across Facebook visiting brands.
I guess this is pretty well shot down now with Facebook’s move to Timeline pages…
Hi Jim, these pages still work the way you’re used to them working (as custom pages) but they will not be landing pages with Timelines. There is no more landing pages feature anymore, the only landing experience is the Timeline, for all users across Facebook visiting brands.
Is an update required on your part for the new width available for pages or is this something I should change myself?
I really would like to know if this will work on the new timeliest structure before I install it – not much point installing it for 3 weeks!
I also want to check if wildfire allows non-fans to see all the updates as well as fans, but only let fans comment?
It will still work as a custom page on your Timeline, but it wont be the landing page with the Timelines format– there are no landing pages within the new Timeline for brands format, so your page will just work as a custom app then. :)
Sorry but I don’t know what that means – if there are no landing pages, what will wildifre do?
Very useful service. This free app is beneficial to us.Thank you for information.
Hey there,
Great and useful app! Are you going to update it so it works with FB’s new pages layout? I hope so, it’s a great tool for my promotions.
Hi Wildfire Team,
How do I unsubscribe from email notices about updates to this post? thanks.
Hi,
Will there be an update to accommodate the new app width (810ppx)?Thanks!
I’ll second this question. How can the iFrame app be change to fit the new 810ppx width? Thanks in advance for any help…
Hi guys
I’m Lost, can I use the WF IFRAMES to run a promotion in the new timelines that will be OK for the Facebook rules?
Does not work with Timeline, no way to set Welcome page.
How can I best embed a YouTube video in the custom HTML area? Thanks so much!
Hi,
Thank you for this great tool.
As asked by Victor,
will the new width be integrated by wildfire? This would be great !
And if yes, when is it planned to be out?
Thanks !
I am unable to edit the landing page. When I click on edit settings the message I get is “We couldn’t find what you’re looking for.

Hi!
It seems that I can only add 1 static iFrames tab? Is is not possible to add more than 1 tab?
Thanks!

This shows up in a tab, but even when I log out and try to view my page it does not take me to the non fans page. I have selected “on” for the fangate and tried resaving several times. What am I doing wrong?
One more thing – I’d love to be able to share the welcome page but there doesn’t seem to be an option to do that. Any way around this?
Thanks for a great app!! Is it possible to add two or more Wildfire iFrame apps to one page?
After further reading, I have found the answer.
